Competitive Bid - New construction 20,580 SF pre-engineered metal building (14,310 SF shop and 6,270 SF two story full finish office), on 3.84 acre parcel. The building foundation design utilized drilled piers and grade beams; 12" thick shop slab and 9" thick office slab. The 2nd floor assembly was structural steel concrete deck. The shop was designed for 28 working bays with 14 each overhead doors. The common wall of the office and shop was constructed of masonry block. Unusual 2" expansion joints in the shop slab, that are typically found in a road/bridge application. In floor heat system for shop, office area was equipped with a heat pump system (Daiken). The site included approximately 70,802 SF 6.5" thick asphalt and 59,000 SF landscaping/hydroseeding. Construction was started in the fall and negative 40 degree temperatures drove the ground frost down and stopped construction through the winter. Project was completed after original completion date. No liquidated damages/penalties apply to contract.
